In the game Pirate Ships: Build and Fight, your voyage will begin with a minimum supply of gold, which will only be enough to build the first ship and hire a small crew. Once out in the open waters, you will plow the seas in an active search for trade caravans that will become your targets for attack. Loot captured as a result of a successful raid can be sold at a profit, and the proceeds can be invested in large-scale modernization of the ship, installation of more powerful guns and expansion of the crew.
